Seeking To Trust No Matter The Sky's Condition
Have you ever had periods in your life when it seemed that the sky was falling? You know the days that started out bad and then got worse. May I confide in you that you are not alone? Everyone on planet earth experiences days of difficulty. Our problems are often made worse, not so much by their existence, but by how we react to their existence. You probably know well the story of Chicken Little.
One day Chicken Little was minding her own business when she was struck in the head by a falling acorn. She immediately surmised that the sky was falling, meaning the end of the world and something must be done. She ran to tell the king meeting several others along the way. In each case, she related how the sky was falling and how that must be a sign of the end of the world. She was panicked, her friends were panicked and they ran together into the woods where they came upon a fox. Now, the fox saw through their story and used it to lure the birds to a dinner where they were the main course. At the conclusion for Chicken Little and her friends the world really did come to an end.
Believers cannot afford to live in panic and fear like Chicken Little. We have a loving heavenly Father who loves and cares for us even when things seem to be going wrong. We must place our trust in Him knowing His promise that “His anger endures but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. “Along with that is the promise that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” While there may be days of difficulty, dear believer, there are no days beyond His love and care.
