Thankful For His Peace In The Storms
Have you listened to the weather reports this week? Monday was a day of high winds and possible tornados. Then Wednesday was forecast to be the same or worse. The threat was so se-vere that many if not most local schools closed. It even became necessary for us to cancel our ser-vices, something I absolutely hate to do. The threat of coming storms are real. There are some who say that if you are a believer walking with God, that you will be free from life’s difficulties. A close examination of the Scriptures will reveal that storms come into everyone’s lives. “For He makes the sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the just and on the un-just.” (Matthew 5:45) The question is not if you will have storms, but when the storms will come?
The great thing for us to keep in mind is that as believers we will never face a storm alone. The Scripture tells the story of the disciples and Jesus being in a storm at sea. While the disciples panicked, Jesus was at peace and asleep. When they awoke Him, He spoke the word and calmed the storm. Our Lord may not take you out of the storms but He can take you safely through them. The thing we must remember is to simply trust Jesus and His word. He has left us His peace that can take us through any storm.
Thankful for His peace in the storms,
