Thankful For The Founding Believers

Posted on July 8, 2015.

As we said last Sunday, America started as a Christian Nation. The following are some quotes from Sunday’s message that several of you have requested attesting to that fact:

Christopher Columbus: “It was the Lord who put into my mind the journey, that it might be possible to sail from here to the Indies. There is no question that the inspiration was from the Holy Spirit. It is simply the fulfillment of what Isaiah had prophesized, the fact that the gospel must be preached in so many nations is what convinced me.”

The Mayflower Compact: “For the Glory of God and the advancement of the Christian Faith."

George Washington: “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.” Before his baptism in front of 42 witnesses George Washington said this to Chaplain John Gano: “I have been studing the scriptures and I believe immersion to be taught in the word of God and I demand it at your hands."

Patrick Henry: “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

First Supreme Court Chief Justice John Jay: “Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers.”

The facts of history cannot be changed. The United States of America was established as a Christian nation. It is up to believers today to return our nation to its purpose.

Thankful for the founding believers,
Bro. Jerry
