Thankful To Be Northside's Pastor
The scriptures tell us we are to “walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise redeeming the time because the days are evil.” With that I could say I have always been faithful to this nugget from God’s word. I am amazed today to find that 35 years have passed since I first set foot in the pulpit of Northside Baptist Church. It would be easy to reminisce about all the great times we have experienced together or to commiserate about all the tragedies we have endured. I can tell you, truthfully, I wish I had been better at redeeming the time. In the 35 years I have been the Pastor of this wonderful church, I have been blessed beyond description. I am unworthy to have had even one such blessing. I thank God and I thank you for allowing me this opportunity. If I could undo even one sin, go back and change even one misstep, or correct even one error - I would gladly do so. Going back in life is not an option. I cannot go back and alter that which cannot be altered. I can seek to redeem the time that lays before me. I cannot live in the past, good or bad, and wisely redeem even one moment. I challenge you to join me in seeking to make the moments ahead count for Jesus. Our days are numbered. Lets make each one count for our Lord and let’s grow His church .
Thankful to be Northside's Pastor,
