Thankful To Be Your Pastor
Being the Pastor of Northside Baptist Church has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. When I came to Northside 36 years ago, I did so with the thought that this would be my life’s work and so far that has been the case. I can not share the number of births, deaths, baptisms, funerals or weddings for which I have been present since coming to Columbus because I haven’t been counting. I do know that I am very thankful that so many of you have allowed me to be involved with some small part of your lives. I am also thankful that the Lord has allowed my children to grow up in Columbus and that Becky has been able to develop her own successful career here. Our church signs are marked with the phrase, “Welcome Home” and that is indeed what this city and this church has become for me and my family. The days have not always been easy but there has been the assurance that this is where God has placed us and in this place we have found an abundance of joy.
While I thank God and you for allowing me to be the Pastor of Northside Baptist Church, I am reminded that there is still much work to do. We are still in a lost city that desperately needs our Savior. I urge you to join me in a renewed effort to draw people to Jesus. I challenge you to be present each Sunday and Wednesday and to bring others. The best years of our church are still ahead.
Thankful to be your Pastor,
