Praying To Change Our Nation

Posted on March 29, 2017.

There seems to be a continuing flow of unrest in our nation’s capital. While some of our politicians are concerned about the involvement of Russia in our last election process, others complain about our health care, immigration and taxes. To paraphrase an old statement about the weather, “ Everybody complains about our government but no one wants to do anything about it. The last presidential election was largely about the supreme court and the repeal of the Affordable Care Act We now have a nominee for the Supreme Court that many are against because he was nominated by the opposing party and the Affordable Care Act was not acted upon because people in the same party could not come to an agreement. It would be good to see our political servants act in the best interest of our nation.

The greatest need of our nation is outside of political reach. It not so much our government that needs to change but the people of our nation. We need to truly become one nation under God. If we make a change in our people toward God then the government will follow. The people who have the responsibility for that change are found in the local church. The Scripture proclaims, “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways. then I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land.” The change for our nation must begin in the hearts and minds of those in God’s family. By surrendering our hearts and lives completely to the Lord we will make a difference.
